  • Moving On This 2008

    By fotogerd | January 16, 2008

It’s time to take my photography to a higher level. :) 2007 was good to me. Erase that. God was. He was good to me and always has been. Whatever year that may be.

This 2008 comes with many challenges. I can feel it already. :) More so in photography. Who wouldn’t be? If you belong to one of the top photo companies in the Philippines. Now, that’s a real blessing. The blessings come with many challenges though and that’s the catch. :)

Well, let’s put it this way. God didn’t say life was easy or photography was easy. What He promised is He will never leave me. :) And that’s where I draw my strength from. His promise. God said it, I believe it. :)

    Happy New Year to You!!!

    I Will See You Soon…

    By fotogerd | November 3, 2007

She drew open the shower curtain. I was surprised. She never did that. But it was an important farewell. She was in her fifties, dressed in her white and red St. Luke’s Women’s Board uniform. I can still remember her gorgeous face. Her hair was pulled up. She said, “I have to go now. I will see you soon.” I replied, “Yes, I will see you soon.” Still surprised by everything and yet I wanted to say more. I looked again to see if she was still there but she was nowhere to be found.

I opened my eyes. It was a dream. Vivid to this date. How could I forget? It was her way of saying goodbye. I had to rush to the hospital to see her and look after her but she couldn’t talk to me. Her brain was damaged. Eight minutes without oxygen in her brain. The doctors had to revive her when she reached Cardinal Santos Hospital. It was protocol for emergency patients.

I rushed to the hospital to find her being charged back to life. I was shocked. I didn’t expect to see her that way. My brother asked me to share my thoughts about everything. I couldn’t talk. All I could think of was that she couldn’t leave just like that. Not without a word. I didn’t know what she felt. I didn’t know if she was ready to leave us or if we were ready to let go. If only we could say farewell to each other - the proper way.

It has been almost seven years when she passed away. The pain of losing her subsides through the years. It took me a very long time to grieve. It was only after three years when I started to accept that she was gone. Slowly, the good and patient Lord worked in my life. He took care of my delicate heart and saw to it that I went through the grieving process with godly people by my side.

“I will see you soon.” Those were our parting words. Yes, I will see her. That is the hope that I have because my mother is with Jesus Christ. While her earthly body is decaying underneath the ground, her soul is rejoicing for she has accepted Jesus as her Lord and Personal Saviour. So I know she is with Jesus in paradise right this very moment.

Mom and Dad's GraveThat is the assurance I have in my life too. Jesus is my Saviour. It is said in the bible that since I believe that Jesus is the Christ, I may know that I have eternal life. (1 John 5:13) It need not be a mystery to me. That is God’s promise that I hold.

When I visited her grave yesterday, I couldn’t help but cry. I miss her very much. I wanted to talk to her. I wanted to share so many things with her. Her life was too short, even at 74. But… the Lord determines our days here on earth. It was time for her to go and I have to accept that.

“I will see you soon.” Such sweet parting words and true. I will see her again one day. When that time comes, there will be no tears. Just pure joy. A rejoicing reunion in heaven.

    His, Hers and God’s

    By fotogerd | October 15, 2007

You know how wedding photographers would play around with the rings to come up with shadows of two hearts? Well, I was playing around with wedding rings one day and came up with this one. (This particular photo is taken during Frederick and Karla’s wedding, October 14, 2007)

I am not sure if my message immediately comes clear but this is what I would like to say when people will see my ’style’ of wedding ring shadows.

Three RingsThe union of a man and a woman is created by God. It is also a covenant, with God and humans as witnesses. Sadly, many couples forget this, specially when the complications in marriage start. They forget that they ‘vowed… till death do them part’. They forget that they had made a covenant and not a contract, before God. Eventually, they want out.

Everytime I hear married people give their words of wisdom to newly weds, the most common yet most important advice they give is always to center their marriage on God. They always need God to make their marriage last. As a matter of fact, without God in the middle, it may not work at all. God needs to be at the center of their individual lives and in their marriage.

Well, I guess so. Imagine two unique individuals with different backgrounds, ideals, etc., live under one roof. Somehow, they will have to make a lot of adjustments. Hmmm… not just a lot of loving but a lot of forgiving too. :)

And so, marriage does not consist of just two individuals. It is a union amongst three - groom, bride and God. God is committed to the marriage as much as the couples are. He is committed to them as individuals and as one. Isn’t that wonderful to know? He is the only third-party allowed to be in between the man and the woman. The closer they get to God, the closer they get to each other.

Thus, the wedding rings - his, hers and God’s.

Want A Free Prenup? (No need to book us)

    By fotogerd | October 12, 2007

Everyone is probably looking forward to their Wedding… Once engaged, you spend so much time, money & energy preparing for the best wedding you can possibly afford. Unfortunately, Most couples prepare a great show & feast for the guest by hiring the best suppliers but forget the most supplier of all – God. You might be prepared financially and emotionally – but are you both prepared spiritually? Seek His guidance in everything that you do.

Sad to say, statistics show that 50% of marriages fail. This number grows slowly by the year. “Separated” and “annulled” has become normal & an accepted status in the society. Quite shameful to think that 90% of Filipinos are Christians.

It is because of this that we are throwing a “One of a Marriage Kind Promo” with no strings attached. No need to buy anything… We want you to have not just a Wedding but a true UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT Marriage IS ALL ABOUT AND HOW TO PREPARE FOR IT.

On Nov 24 (Saturday), were going to have a seminar/workshop in Josiah’s Restaurant at the 2nd floor of the Philippine Bible Society Bldg along UN Ave. (near Taft fronting the PNP headquarters). The seminar starts at 9am and should be done by around 5pm. The seminar will focus on “God’s design & plan for Marriages”.

Imagine Nation’s “One of a Marriage Kind Promo” Mechanics:

    1. Both of you need to attend the seminar from Start to end. Being late will disqualify you from the Promo but you can still attend.
    2. After finishing the seminar, there is nothing else you need to buy, join or commit to. We will give you the engagement pictorial coupon that you can use any weekday except December or January before your wedding. The coupon is non-transferable.
    3. The 2-3 hour Engagement pictorial will be done by a Professional Photographer from Imagine Nation Photography.
    4. You can choose any location that you like (Manila or go out of town), the only thing we’ll ask is that you pick us up and return us in the studio.
There will be 3 pax coming along (your main photographer, an assistant & a back-up photographer).
    5. We can only accommodate 40 couples - on a first come first serve basis.

Those who are interested can email artist_ph@yahoo.com so we can send you back the registration form. We’ll also invite you to betterweddings@yahoogroups.com as soon as we receive your registration to better prepare you for the workshop & so you can get to meet the other couples you will be with.

Go ahead, this might be the best investment you are going to make for your wedding…

    An Afternoon At Lakeshore

    By fotogerd | September 21, 2007

It was my first time at Lakeshore in Pampangga. The weather was perfect and we were hoping to get a good sunset. Unfortunately, the sun was too shy to show its fiery beauty at the end of the day. Instead, this is as close as I could get with the sun. Too shiny. :(

So instead, I thought of giving my pic another dose of my edgy treatment. I like the sun better this time. :) It does shine bright but manages to bring some light on the couple’s faces. I’ll be uploading more of their photographs. Just check them out at my photo site . :)
